Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness DOMS is what happens when you stop training and then start again. That’s not the official definition but it’s when I get pretty severe soreness from working out.
Usually it’s when I do some sort of lower body strength training. Something as simple as a few squats.
I bring this up today as I’m currently going through a very intense period of soreness in my glutes. This is due to a routine I did last Friday. I then went for a 40 mile road ride Saturday and suffered extra due to the DOMS.
One of the best ways to get over DOMS is to keep exercising. It might feel like your legs are gonna fall off but they won’t. Just remember to keep breathing and get lots of rest.
